We are armed with powerful stories, brave hearts, and a resolute spirit for justice and change.

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Women’s Justice League took to the streets on Sunday, October 21, 2018, to shed light on verbal and emotional abuse at Chicago’s most visited and photographed tourist hot spot in the city, the Cloud Gate at Millennium Park.

We wore the words not because they define us. But rather because they no longer hold power, control, shame or humiliation over us. This was our testimony. It was absolutely terrifying to bring this conversation to the street, in one of the most public spaces in the city. But it’s something we, as survivors, have a responsibility to do. As victims, we were dealt terrible injustices, and though we still may be afraid, we will persist through the fear, as the Women’s Justice League.
